The YMCA of Oakville is looking for a talented, analytical, values driven Manager Finance to join our team.

The Manager Finance will oversee and manage the day-to-day associations financial matters. Will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness and quality of data input, transactions, data files, and provides support to Leadership Staff with respect to departmental financial results and budgeting. Manager Finance will report to the Vice President, Finance, Business Systems & IT. This position has direct management and supervisory responsibility for the Finance Team. This includes Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

**Location**: Hybrid (flexible) working arrangement - office location/home

Office location, Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario.

**Work Schedule**: Full time, 35 hours per week

**Responsibilities**:
**Finance**:

- Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are being applied in creating and maintaining all data, including internal controls, cash handling, expense approvals, financial assistance, and receipting.
- Organizing and scheduling the month end process; reconciling major asset accounts such as bank, investments, prepaids, accounts receivable, deferred grants, capital assets and accrued expenses. Provide variance analysis on revenue lines to department management. Analyze major expenditure lines to identify allocation issues. Generate financial statements and liaise with other department heads to produce a Variance Report Summary for the Senior Leadership Team. Translating equity and fixed income asset foreign investments and liaise with external Investment Manager to resolve discrepancies found as a result of monthly investments reconciliation.
- Prepare the annual T3010 Charity Information Return.
- Seek new financial processes or solutions for greater efficiency and accountability, such as consolidated billing opportunities and finance forms automation.

**Grant & Funding Reconciliation**:

- Reconcile and allocate Child Care Wage Subsidy grants monthly and provide leadership with annual reconciliations and annual reporting to the Halton Region.
- Reconcile, track, and allocate the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care System (CWELCC) funding and assist with reporting to the Halton Region.
- Track, allocate and report on external grant funding as per the terms of funding agreements.
- Ensure our IT infrastructure is secure and protected from cybercrime.

**Support Managers & Supervisors**:

- Support department managers and supervisors with their financial queries.
- Provide department managers and supervisors with any revenue or expense analysis as needed.
- Support managers and account owners in managing costs, reporting, and forecasting.
- Actively participate in Operators Group of the Association.
- Maintain good working relationship with auditors, bankers, investment consultants, and other professional advisors.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Finance Team.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in a managerial and accounting role, with an overall budget of $20M
- Proven analytical skills
- Proven knowledge of charitable accounting principles
- Experience with external auditors, auditing, and reporting procedures
- Experience in financial analysis and reporting
- Planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and communication skills
- Ability to use knowledge and reasoning to solve complex problems
- Ability to concentrate on complicated detail and complex issues with interruption, pressure, and changing priorities
- Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks over long periods of time
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Be vaccinated against covid-19 or provide valid proof of exemption on grounds that are protected under the Human Rights code

Desirable
- Experience in charitable sector
- Forecasting and budgeting experience
- Experience with regional, provincial, and federal grants and subsidies
- Experience with Active Net, Unison, Ceridian software systems
- Prior experience implementing new finance systems
