Do you have a passion for musical theatre? Our musical theatre department is growing and we are looking for another director to join our team.In Edmonton and St. Albert, Alberta in inspiring the next generation of performing artistsi to develop singing, acting and dancing skills. At the end of each season, in the month of April, we present two musical theatre productions. The Director of Teen Musical Theatre will work together with the Director of Children's Musical Theatre to create show stopping productions.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Instruct weekly musical theatre classes for ages 7-18
- Direct Teen Musical Theatre shows for 2025
- Manage teen musical theatre, acting departments at locations in St. Albert and Edmonton
- Collaborate with Children's Musical Theatre Director
- Oversee lighting, sets and costumes for Teen Musicals
- Direct 2 productions each year with multiple casts
- Maintain effective communication with parents and other instructors
- Contribute to social media content
- Be available to rehearse as needed, including weekends
- Work with an artistic team
- Organize rehearsals and events associated with the musical theatre department
- Teach private lessons in voice and acting.
- Teach acting classes

**Job requirements**
- A post secondary degree or diploma in music, theatre, dance, or musical theatre is required
- Have the ability to direct interesting productions with casts of various ability levels.
- Build confidence in students.
- Enjoy working with people of all ages and excel in communication.
- Work well in a team.

**Benefits**

A comprehensive benefit package is provided upon completion of the first year.

**Relevant Dates**

The regular teaching season is September to the beginning of May, with optional contract extension available June-August.

**Salary**: $45,000-50,000 (52 weeks) year based on 40 hours of work each week

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 2 years (preferred)

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

- English (preferred)
