The Porter is a member of the Environmental Services team. Under the direction of Environmental Services Management, the Porter is responsible for the following:
Accountabilities:
- Transporting of patients and items throughout the Hospital as directed while focusing on safe work practices, high quality work and excellent customer service
- Transporting patients for diagnostic tests and between patient units
- Transporting specimens, blood work, medication, linen, charts and equipment within the Hospital
- Performing other duties in support of the Porter function and other duties as assigned and/or required by a Supervisor
**Qualifications**
- Secondary school or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Minimum one year recent porter experience, preferably in a health care environment
- Ability to work independently, in a fast paced environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive activities such as lifting, pushing and pulling
- Must be physically able to perform all job duties as assigned
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be able to work where exposed to infection, blood/human waste and work interruptions
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Four (4) positions available
**Salary**:
Minimum: $25.69 per hour
Maximum: $26.16 per hour
