**WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?**

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

The Insurance Risk Manager will:

- Assess and identify business risks, audit existing insurance coverage and, working with the Company's insurance brokers, advise on appropriate insurance coverage to mitigate any risks not adequately covered.
- Direct the purchase of insurance programs and prepare comprehensive insurance coverage summaries and manuals for use by business teams; responsible for preparing and managing associated budget
- Manage claims and loss control activities while strongly championing the Company's interest in the process; maintain records of insurance policies and claims.
- Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Advise on insurance language in Company's contracts, where requested.
- Manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, insurers, and underwriters.
- Build insurance awareness amongst personnel by providing support and training within the Company.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's Brazilian parent company's global insurance policy. Coordinate with the global insurance team for Brazilian parent company on certain global programs.

**WHAT DO YOU REQUIRE TO SUCCEED?**

**Education**
- University graduation in related area, with at least 4-5 years of related experience, ideally with medium to large corporations with operations in both Canada and the US.
- Professional Qualifications which would be assets include, or be working towards:

- Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) (property and casualty insurance industry's comprehensive professional program) with a concentration in Claims courses
- Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) (property and casualty insurance industry's premier designation denoting a level of professionalism above the CIP)
- ** Experience** Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in roles such as risk analyst, underwriter, actuary, or in a similar capacity within the insurance industry.

**Knowledge (technical/practical/managerial)**
- Proficient with MS-Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
