**Job Synopsis**
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Church & Community Engagement Manager and as a member of MCC BC’s Advancement team, the Material Resource & Community Engagement Coordinator oversees all aspects of MCC’s Material Resource and is focused on community engagement in BC. This individual will use material aid to engage the community in MCC’s work by creating meaningful opportunities for hands-on-experiences.
Working with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure that the quantity of materials collected meet budget and that materials are suitably prepared and packed before shipment occurs. The MCC BC Material Resources Warehouse serves as a receiving and shipping point for material aid intended for local and international relief.
A key dimension of this position is to coordinate the work of volunteers that donate, assemble, and package material resources and provide informal presentations to volunteers and visitors on the role of material resources in the work of MCC.
As part of the Advancement Team, they will also assist in the creation of various engagement resources and plan events that promote engagement.

This role contributes to a positive workplace culture based on Christian beliefs and values, while modelling nonviolent peacemaking in the workplace, in the community and the church through respectful interactions with others. This role requires adherence to MCC BC’s Code of Conduct, policies, practices, and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety.
- ** When you work**: This position blends a regular office hours schedule (between 8:30 - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday) with occasional evening or weekend work to facilitate departmental needs, as necessary.
- ** Where you work**: This position is located at MCC BC’s MCC Centre location in Abbotsford, British Columbia and requires physical presence at the MCC warehouse on most days. On occasion, at various churches and community events to other locations within British Columbia.
- ** How much you work**: This is a full-time salaried position working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Supporting special organizational initiatives may require working extended, after or holiday hours, as necessary.
- ** Physical conditions & requirements**: This position works inside the warehouse and outside the warehouse, as circumstances require. Appropriate footwear is required; some duties may require the wearing of personal protective equipment.
- **Pace of work**: This position requires working in with warehouse staff and the advancement team. You may be met with multiple demands at once from volunteers, employees, and beneficiaries; responding positively and adroitly throughout.

**Qualifications**
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate in standard workplace computer programs / Computer experience required with proficiency in MS Office/Teams
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to develop and deliver presentations for small groups of supporters
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & ACCREDITATIONS
- Minimum 1 year experience in a public-facing role including sales, customer service or public engagement
- Experience working with and coordinating volunteers
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is an asset
- Inventory management experience is an asset
- Current First Aid Training Certification (may be provided in first three months of employment)
JOB REQUIREMENTS & LICENSING
- Valid BC Driver’s License along with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Satisfactory criminal record clearance (required upon hire)
- Legally able to work in Canada
**Key Responsibilities**
MATERIAL RESOURCE OPERATIONS (50%)
- Manage the Material Resources budget and work with current and prospective donors to increase the collection of material resources for MCC.
- Participate and collaborate in the Material Resources Network of MCC by sharing what MCC BC is doing and helping generate creativity and productivity with the larger MCC MR Network.
