**IN A SNAPSHOT**

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for ensuring the best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning, with linkage to site financials. The Production Planner/Scheduler will play a key role in the overall business growth and inventory reduction strategies.

This position will work closely with the Plant Manager, HACCP Coordinator and production supervisors. Production Scheduler shall be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production and inventory control. The Production Scheduler shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.

**WHERE YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME**
- Plan and prepare daily production schedules.
- Coordinate Commodity Contracts with vendors to effectively Procure Raw Materials and Packaging as per forecast demand.
- Issue all work orders per production schedule.
- Responsible for Material Requirement Planning improvements & implementation.
- Assign & Assist Shipper/Receiver with Inventory Cycle Counts.
- Ensure integrity of Data Entry when processing purchase receipts and invoices.
- Manage Inventory to ensure accuracy and prevent overstocks.
- Estimate materials and labour required for production.
- Co-ordinate Transfers between JKO warehouse and Milano Plant.
- Monitor and track production KPIs to report to the Manager.
- Compile worksheets and specifications of daily production report.
- Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule.
- Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action.
- Co-ordinate with QA to ensure Build-of-Materials are kept up to date while enforcing safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments.
- Collaborate with the Sales team and Demand Planner to plan long term at matching capacity with demand, lead-time, and delivery performance.
- Participate in weekly operations meetings to plan corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Make recommendations to support Just-In-Time practice.
- Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly, and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high-volume months.

**WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU**
- Post-Secondary education in business or supply chain management or in a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a production scheduler, preferably in a food production facility.
- Production experience preferred.
- American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification preferred.
- Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, communicate (orally and in writing), lead business discussions and train others.
- Team player within multi-disciplined team.
- Strong organizational skill set.
- Excellent telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in cross functional team.
- Knowledge of purchase ordering and inventory control
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances.
- Meticulous records maintenance skills.
