**Purpose**:
The Demand Planner is responsible for overseeing the forecasting and demand planning processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on forecast expectations and identify potential demand risks and opportunities. Also responsible for managing forecast submissions and demand adjustments within the Retalix system, analyzing data, and making recommendations to improve forecast accuracy and inventory levels. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, ultimately supporting business objectives by maximizing customer service levels.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manages and maintains the accuracy of demand forecasts within the Retalix system.
- Monitors and reports on forecast accuracy, customer service levels, and inventory levels.
- Collaborates with Sales, Procurement, and Suppliers to gather necessary data for forecasting.
- Analyzes demand trends, sales data, and other factors to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Collaborates with Procurement team to ensure optimal inventory is available to satisfy customer demand.
- Adjusts demand forecasts based on changes in sales trends, seasonality, promotions, and other factors.
- Ensures forecast adjustments are accurately loaded and reflected in the Retalix system.
- Continuously improves vendor forecast accuracy and inbound service levels by proactively communicating UNFI needs on a weekly basis.
- Provides technical support and analysis to Sales, Procurement, and Suppliers as related to Supply Chain.
- Responsible for maintaining business results in key performance indicators (KPIs) for Demand Planning.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within demand planning and inventory management.
- Supports joint business plan objectives that include Holiday seasons, new product launch volumes, and major promotional tradeshows.
- Responsible for generating and issuing internal reports as required.
- Responsible for generating and issuing vendor reports as required.
- Collaborates with cross-functional team members to understand, review, and solve outstanding data needs.
- Actively listens to internal/external customer needs, prioritizes tasks, efficiently troubleshoots problems, and recommends solutions in a timely manner.
- Proactively seeks out pertinent data and conceives new, better ways of reporting and presenting information drawn from various data sets.
- Manages priorities to ensure deliverables are produced/completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs other relevant job duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Education/Certification**:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or a related field
**Experience**:
- 3+ years of experience in demand planning or a related field
**Knowledge**:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience with Retalix or other demand planning software considered an asset.
- Knowledge of distribution industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, including inventory management, logistics, and production planning.

- Able to work independently and be self-directed in completing tasks assigned.
- Able to document work in progress.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable to adjust to changing market conditions and demand patterns.
