**About Us**:
The **Office of Indigenous Initiatives** is responsible for championing and/or supporting through advice and counsel Indigenous initiatives across a broad range of areas including: student affairs, academic programs, workforce planning, space planning, policy and implementation, and training and development etc... Through collaborative and community-engaged processes, the Office will facilitate partnerships that increase Indigenous voices and presence across all levels of work, study and research at Western.

**Responsibilities**:
**Description**
- Western recognizes the vital role that Indigenous scholars play in Indigenizing the University. The purpose of the Indigenous Faculty Advisory Council (IFAC) is to support Indigenous faculty members by holding a culturally safe space for them to meet regularly, nurture a sense of community, and discuss needs and challenges relevant to their success. The Council also provides guidance to the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII) in the identification, development, and delivery of Indigenous strategies that support and advance Indigenous faculty members in their teaching, research, and service._
**Responsibilities**:
Support the development and organization of IFAC through administrative and academic tasks including:
- Literature reviews
- Event and meeting coordination
- Administrative and other related tasks as assigned
**Supervisor**:
- Reports to the Vice-Provost/ Associate Vice President, Indigenous Initiatives and Co-Chair of IFAC
**Qualifications**:
Required
- Proficiency in academic writing and preparation of manuscripts
- Knowledgeable of Indigenous pedagogies and ways of knowing
- Ability to be a self-starter and take the initiative on projects
- Superior project management and communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in working hours to accommodate project deadlines and priorities.
Preferred
- Preference will be given to those students who self-identify as Indigenous.
