The Edmonton Police Service has an opportunity for a motivated Firearms Instructor able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of the Firearms Training Unit. Responsibilities of this position will include:

- Teaching fundamentals of firearms safety and marksmanship (pistol and rifle).
- Development, co-ordination, and delivery of the specific lesson plans for the training.
- Providing remedial training stemming from Operational Reviews, Re-integration, AACP Qualification standards.
- Working with curriculum designers to validate and update firearms lesson plans.
- On-going administrative tasks, benchmarking, researching, preparing, and revising lesson plans.
- Maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Ensure safety practices are current and being followed by internal and external partners.
- Other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Education, Communication or a discipline as required by area of specialization.
- A minimum of five (5) years related experience in education/training program creation, maintenance and evaluation, along with two (2) years of Project Management.
- The following certificates are required: Firearms Instructors Certification(s), Use of Force Certification(s), First Aid Certification and Instructional / Teaching Certification(s)
- Working knowledge of the Provincial Policing Standards and the Criminal Code as it pertains to use of force by Police Officers.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be able to work both independently with mínimal supervision and as an integral part of a team.
- Knowledge of a police environment is an asset.

**Salary Range**:
21B, Salary Grade: 027, $40.72 - $51.13 (Hourly), $3,258.20 - $4,090.50(Biweekly), $85,037.98- $106,761.43 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with the City of Edmonton and CSU52 Union Collective Agreement.
