Accountable to the Director of Quality Assurance and Community Development, the Service Manager - Community and Transitions plays a vital role in fostering relationships between the organization and the community.

This position involves strategizing and implementing initiatives that enhance community engagement, and works to build and maintain a positive, interactive environment while understanding the community’s needs and interests, as well as the ability to translate organizational objectives into community-focused programs that support growth and engagement of service users.

The Service Manager - Community and Transitions will be responsible for program staff, will ensure the services meet the physical, emotional, social and health and safety needs of the services users, and that services provided are adequate to meet the needs of the persons supported.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Develop, implement, monitor, oversee and evaluate transitional and community activities and programs for young adults; ensuring they are consistent with the Agency’s philosophical beliefs and within the standards of service.
- Develop and implement program enhancements.
- Coordinate, meet and facilitate with participants, families and community stakeholders.
- Recruit External Professionals to offer Community Based Programs,
- Hire, orientate, evaluate, discipline, supervise program staff.
- Manage staff schedule and related matters.
- Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies.
- Assist the agency in developing community presence; informally and formally.
- Liaison and build bridges with community Agencies, Businesses, Boards of Education
- Coordinate and implement the Admission/Discharge of people to Programs.
- Acts as an on-call component to all Agency programs on a rotational basis.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation, or Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Disabilities field or Social Services.
- First Aid and CPR certificates must be in current status
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle
- 3-5 years Supervisory Experience
- Up to date Computer Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

HOURS: This is a permanent full time position of 40 hours a week, with expected flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required and participate in on-call rotation
