The Under the general supervision of the Director of Proposals & Estimating and/or Estimate Managers, this position has the responsibility to prepare and deliver compliant and comprehensive construction cost estimates, methodologies, execution plans, projects risks, assumptions, and clarifications for various electrical scopes relating to nuclear and/or industrial construction projects. The person in this position will be required to develop detailed compilations and summaries of direct construction hours, engage with multiple subcontractors, material suppliers and rental companies and be able to present their results logically and thoroughly to management for approval.

**What You'll Do Here**
- A strong electrical background with direct construction, and/or supervision, experience within the heavy industrial or nuclear construction segments.
- Work effectively in a team environment to support other Estimators and Estimating Managers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Develop strategies and scope breakdown structures to support the estimate development process
- Support the Estimating Manager throughout the entire duration of the proposal / estimate development process
- Participation and understanding of both design/build and “build-to-spec” contracts
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, lists, and other technical documentation
- Ability to conceptualize construction plans / methodologies that define how to construct and/or install equipment or to complete an activity and translate those concepts into realistic estimate summaries.
- Create sketches, drawings and specifications to support the estimating process
- Compile RFIs during and/or after the document reviews
- Responsible for the accurate take-off of quantities preparation of detailed estimates while following company policies and estimating procedures
- Utilize construction estimating software to compile detailed estimate information
- Estimate Preparation - labour hours / headcounts, material costs; tools & equipment costs; scheduling durations; and compile bid packages for subcontractors and/or equipment suppliers
- Analyzes sub-trade quotations, liaison with subcontractors for clarification of issues
- Attend estimate kick-off and approval meetings with management to review estimate details, assumptions, and risk factors
- Determine estimated construction durations for job forecasting and project scheduling
- Attend walkdowns / site visits to understand project scope
- Maintain estimating information to establish historical database references, including information on prices from equipment vendors, material suppliers and/or subcontractors.
- Superior time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Conduct and complete specialized nuclear training (i.e. Orange Badge)
