Adult Day Program Assistant

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Support and assist in Day Program activities, daily running of the program based on client and program needs;
- Assist clients with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene as needed;
- Assist clients with crafts, games and other activities;
- Assist with on-site meal preparation and clean up;
- Interact well and nurture the involvement of volunteers
- Assist with record keeping to ensure compliance with funder and agency procedures;
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, safe food handling and associated regulations

**KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION **_(abilities, skills, behaviours)._**
- Post Secondary education in one or more of the following areas Recreation Therapy, Personal Support, Developmental Service Worker or Social Service Worker
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with frail seniors, individuals with physical disabilities and/or individuals with cognitive impairments;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required
- Safe Food Handling, Lifts & Transfers and Medication Management Training assets
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving record
