**The Opportunity**:
General Bank of Canada is currently seeking a** Treasury Analyst to** join the Accounting and Finance team Reporting to the Senior Treasury Analyst, the **Treasury Analyst** is a key member of the Bank’s Treasury function and is responsible for reviewing, assessing, and maintaining the Bank’s Liquidity and Capital requirements, both statutory and Board mandated. This role will also ensure that the Bank’s treasury activities are in accordance with Bank’s policy, OSFI guidelines, and ultimately the Bank Act. The **Treasury Analyst** plays an active role in the Bank’s Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) and liaises with internal and external auditors. Additional responsibilities are outlined below;
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the daily assessment and management of the operational liquidity requirements of GBC, including:
- Monitoring and maintaining the Bank’s liquidity position to support new loan originations, deposit maturities, and daily organizational cash flow requirements.
- Remitting (daily) securitized loan collections to requisite securitization conduit(s).
- Assess and review(daily) market activities relating to the Bank’s various liquidity channels, term deposits, and/or high-interest savings account (HISA) demand deposits.
- Perform obligations relating to interest rate swaps, and/or collateral posting as required.
- Collect investment due(s) as required.
- Advise, propose, and post appropriate GIC and high-interest savings account (HISA) deposit product rates daily.
- Prepare for review, various OSFI regulatory reports.
- Act as backup and/or support to the Bank’s Financial Services Administrator and Business Development Advisor, Deposits.
- Support the Senior Treasury Analyst with preparation and participate in weekly Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) meetings.
- Assist and aid General Bank’s Treasury team with projects and ad hoc issues.
- Assist with Month End and Year End activities relating to investments, derivatives, securitization, and HISA portfolios.
- Support Internal and External Auditors with documents and participation as required.
- Support the Senior Treasury Analyst with Risk and Compliance within the Treasury function.
**What you Bring to the Table**:
The Treasury Analyst will bring 2 years of experience in a similar role within the financial industry, having completed post-secondary education in the fields of Business, Accounting, or Finance. The following are required competencies for the role;

- A high level of attention to detail resulting in high levels of data accuracy
- Strong reporting skills with the expertise to critically assess processes in order to maintain optimum efficiency and also communicate concisely when providing status updates.
- Excellent analytical skills with the intellect to take all factors into consideration, seek the truth, and be objective when making decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to utilize data to perform analysis to highlight trends, issues, and potential solutions. creative thinking that enables sound and timely decision making
- Proficiency in providing timely and accurate information to key stakeholders I.e effectively communicate to build networks, support teams, and drive results. Establish trusting relationships using good written and verbal communication skills with vendors, clients, and team members.
- Very good comfort levels with adherence to bank policies and procedures, regulatory compliance discipline.
