**Position**: Assistant Controller

**Reports to**: Financial Controller

**Role Purpose**:
The Assistant Controller is a pivotal role aimed at supporting the financial leadership of La Rocca Creative Cakes. Working under the guidance of the Controller and VP Finance & Systems, this role involves enhancing financial processes, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring financial integrity throughout the company.
- **Responsibilities**:_

The following is not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Lead month-end closing processes, including completing key account reconciliations and ensuring accurate financial statements.
- Manage regulatory filings, including tax strategy and compliance.
- Direct and oversee a team comprising one accounts payable specialist, one accounts receivable specialist, and an accounts receivable co-op.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial reports, offering insights and strategic recommendations.
- Establish and maintain financial controls in line with organizational policies and standards.
- Support the execution of the organization's mission and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.
- Assist the processes for monthly and yearly financial closings, coordinating with external auditors to facilitate the year-end review.
- Generate monthly margin and quarterly covenant reports for banking partners.
- Ensure the accuracy, cleanliness, and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Conduct financial analyses as required for capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Handle and reconcile intercompany financial activities.
- Execute quarterly reconciliations as mandated by the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC).
- Manage and respond to ad-hoc financial requests and projects as needed, providing flexibility and support to the finance department.
- **Knowledge & Skills & Abilities**_
- Actively pursuing a CPA or equivalent accounting designation (CA, CGA, ACCA, CMA) or already possess one.
- Proven experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant financial experience.
- Robust independent work capabilities, adept at managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central 365 and familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent managerial and communication abilities.
- Enthusiasm for leveraging technology to improve financial processes.
- Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and continuously improve.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
