Reporting to the Manager, Customer Intelligence and Analytics, the Marketing Data Analyst is responsible to analyze liquor, gaming, and cannabis data to identify trends, insights and to help evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing programs. The position provides analytical support and reporting for Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ (MBLL) various lines of business and maintains the integrity and relevance of internal databases. The incumbent works closely with ITS to ensure a steady provision of data to Marketing and where necessary, other operational areas.

**Duties**:

- Use math, statistics, programming, data mining, and other analytics to create insights from raw data.
- Conduct analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of promotions and programs.
- Support Liquor, Cannabis, and Gaming Operations with respect to promotional analysis and reporting, data analytics and minor database operational support. Support will primarily be for Liquor Operations.
- Conduct analytics regarding loyalty programs. Work closely with the Programming Sponsorship team to report upon promotional effectiveness of loyalty programs.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and factually report information in a clear and concise manner.
- Create ad hoc and on-going reports as required.
- Where necessary, recommend key performance indicators (KPIs) for the corporation and its divisions.
- Support Marketing with the provision of lists for targeted promotions.
- Present findings and results to appropriate internal and external stakeholders including senior management.
- Liaise with management from all liquor, cannabis, and gaming departments, Internal Audit, Finance and Corporate Security.
- Design and develop predictive models, metrics, and dashboards to uncover actionable insights from raw data. Uncover hidden truths from data and translate complicated data into relatable information.
- Work closely with ITS to ensure smooth provision of enterprise data. Become a contact between Marketing and Communications and ITS.
- Conduct data testing as required.
- Assist in defining data requirements, ensure data integrity, and recommend methodology and technology to facilitate data collection.
- Support Liquor, Cannabis, and Gaming Operations with the provision of reports that assist in a better understanding of their business operations. Automate and maintain these reports as necessary.
- Work with Internal Audit to develop and maintain reports used to monitor the integrity of Liquor, Cannabis and Gaming Operations.
- Create custom processes to automate the analytical process and provide continual insight, as well as self-auditing the processes for accuracy.
- Provide to management issues related to data and data integrity as necessary.
- Maintain and update liquor promotions database and files.
- Maintain and update gaming database and files when necessary.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Primary Qualifications**:

- Completion of a post-secondary degree with a major in statistics, data science or related discipline preferred.
- A minimum of three years’ experience utilizing statistical database software, in addition to collecting, retrieving, and maintaining data in a statistical database format, and experience interpreting real world statistical data anticipating upcoming challenges.
- Strong ability to work with structured query language (SQL).
- Knowledge of Cognos BI is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams).
- Professional development and upgrading are required to stay on the forefront of liquor, cannabis, and gaming management and analysis.
- Ability to create reports/dashboards with large data sets for business intelligence needs.
- Ability to prioritize, manage information, and problem solve.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, work independently and within tight deadlines.
- On-going training in Statistical Software (SAS/SPSS/R) is required to stay current with developments in the field.

**Secondary Qualifications**:

- Bilingual (French/English) language skills
