**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Data Analyst. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the Missing Children Phase 3 project (MCP3) relating to analyzing data, such as names, research findings, etc. The Data Analyst will also collaborate with researchers on the project and community liaisons to ensure the names are being repatriated to the correct home communities.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in software design, development, analysis, maintenance, and support, with enterprise level and/or critical systems within a university, government, or heritage environment required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with high volume data sets from diverse sources preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with data projects of highly sensitive, personal information preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing large scale data migration projects, including the automation of workflows regarding data cleaning, crosswalking, and database ingestion and exporting preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing custom code using coding languages such as python is an asset.
- Experience working with Survivors, Indigenous communities, and academic researchers regarding access to records and information preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices required.
- Knowledge of Indigenous history in Canada, including residential school history required.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with IT departments and outside vendors required.
- Conscientious attention to detail is required.
- A well developed and recognized technical specialization in the narrow but complex area of information technology for database management, development and research required.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, tailor, and implement vendor-supplied software required.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, and data storage systems required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
