**Seeking an experienced and versatile energy auditor to join our team that could also manage some projects.**

Tate Engineering is an engineering, project management, and consulting firm that defines and solves complicated issues related to capital projects, energy and resource use, and facility management. We have provided professional project advisory and project & construction management services for some of Nova Scotia’s largest and most complex construction and engineering projects. We also specialize in energy assessments and modeling for both commercial and multi-unit residential buildings.

**About the role**
This is an opportunity where you will play a pivotal role and hit the ground running on commercial and multi-unit residential energy audits in addition to managing some of our energy projects.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
**You will be a support to the energy auditing/modeling team in the following ways**:
- Cover peak periods of auditing and fill in for vacation and extended periods of leave.
- Complete ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 audits and feasibility studies.
- Create energy models in H2K and RETScreen software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to prepare documentation and technical reports in collaboration with the auditing/modeling team.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and trades and support auditors in maintaining current costing of proposed upgrades.
**As an energy project manager, you will also be responsible for**:
- Conducting site visits and assessments to gather relevant data and information.
- Developing and reviewing energy models and calculations to estimate energy savings and costs.
- Preparing and presenting energy audit reports and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinating and managing the implementation of energy efficiency projects, including contracting, procurement, quality control, and commissioning.
- Monitoring and verifying the performance and savings of energy efficiency projects, using methods such as IPMVP, in collaboration with the auditor/modeling team.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Managing project risks, issues, and changes.
- Reporting on project status, progress, and outcomes.
**About you**
- You have at least 3 years of experience in energy auditing, preferably in commercial and residential sectors.
- You have a degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, building science, or a related field.
- You have a certification or accreditation in energy auditing, such as CEAT, CEEM, CEM, or CMVP.
- You have experience in project management and working with multiple stakeholders.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, H2K, RETScreen, and other relevant software.
- You are a team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Entrepreneurial mind-set: identify tasks and opportunities to excel.
- Being a self-starter who is responsible and dependable is essential to the role.
- You are detail oriented, are great at problem-solving and critical thinking, and understand the importance of process.
- You are confident but check your ego at the door. There are no rock stars here and no departments. The whole team owns the entire project - together.
