Contract Administrator/ Estimator

Established in 1919, Fort Garry Fire Trucks is Canada's leading manufacturer of quality fire trucks. Fort Garry Fire Trucks is looking to hire a full-time permanent Contract Administrator/ Estimator. As a Contract Administrator/ Estimator you will oversee client orders through their production cycle from the quoting stage to the final delivery. Success in this position depends upon an exceptional ability to translate customer specifications and develop bid submissions in an efficient manner.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Read and interpret technical specifications to prepare quotes
- Source and cost components
- Prepare job cost estimates
- Prepare RFP and tender packages for management review
- Manage multiple contracts from initial order entry to final customer invoicing
- Interact with customers and sales staff
**Applicant Requirements**
- Proficient computer skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Reliable, organized and a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Reliable transportation is required, bussing is not available at our location
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
**Assets**
- Experience estimating job costs
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Firefighting background and/or experience
- Service writer or warranty writer experience
