**Escape Manor has opened a new dining, cocktail and gaming lounge in the heart of downtown Ottawa. The 11,000 square foot, 600-person capacity Manor Lounge and Escape Manor hybrid location has upscale casual dining, scratch cocktails, craft beer, games, puzzles, escapes, a Bocce court and a whole new gamified way to experience darts. The Manor is seeking top talent to usher this new offering into the roaring twenties of human reconnection.**

Escape Manor is putting the fun back into hospitality and needs a fantastic and charismatic General Manager to help us nurture a dream team for this (our tenth and flagship) location in downtown Ottawa.

The Manor Lounge offers full lunch, brunch, and dinner as well as late-night services and hosts multiple group functions and events. Delectable shareables, surprise & delight features, and group menus impress and wow the 60-seat lounge, 40-seat parlour, 20-seat bar and the 80-seat patio guests.

The GM will have extensive knowledge and experience running large front-of-the-house food and beverage operations, be a natural, charismatic leader, be a problem solver, and have an energetic, can-do attitude. The GM will be responsible for updating and creating new SOPs for all roles, interviewing and hiring a dream team, training and maintaining the highest service standards, and running Ottawa’s hottest new home of dining, lounging and having fun. The GM will liaise regularly with the owners and regional manager and constantly strive to better the operation, finding new and exciting ways to surprise and delight each and every guest. A solid grasp of labour and beverage costs, understanding of how to analyze P&Ls, ability to contribute to the marketing program and ability to have a strong presence on the floor will be key to success in this exciting new role. Job Description - General Manager - Escape Manor | The Manor Lounge

JOB SUMMARY: The General Manager is responsible for working in conjunction with the Ontario Regional Manager to manage all aspects of the business, including the overall in-house guest experience, reservations, escape rooms, inventory management, systems management, maintenance and upkeep of facilities, promoting customer reviews and sales initiatives, and managing day-to-day employment matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / MANAGEMENT TASKS:
The Business:

- Manage all aspects of the operation under the guidance of the Regional Manager
- Learn the business and understand immersive entertainment trends and tastes
- Develop a strategy to establish Escape Manor as a recognizable brand in Ottawa
- Develop and report on financial budgets, forecasts and other operational targets
- Attend local networking events as necessary and develop community relationships
- Lead by example and be a resource to all members of the team

People:

- Create a culture of camaraderie and service excellence
- Create synergy amongst the various departments and cross-train to the extent possible
- Hire, train, and maintain an exceptional team (using HR files)
- Schedule employees and determine optimal staffing levels
- Create development plans for leaders and front-line staff
- Establish and execute ongoing performance management programs
- Work with ownership on new menu ideas, staff incentives and monthly targets
- Manage labour costs in accordance with budget

Facilities and Systems
- Keep the venue in pristine shape, including front and back of house areas
- Monitor and manage lounge, escape rooms
- Check washrooms, storage and food service areas for cleanliness
- Maintain and continuously improve lounge activations and escape rooms
- Be an expert on brand standards, systems (POS, HR) and software and marketing tools
- Develop storage and inventory systems for escape room and gaming materials
- Ensure venue is fully stocked with all necessary supplies and backups

Food and Beverage Service
- Create and manage menus and F&B offerings
- Work with vendor representatives to develop strong account relationships
- Implement responsible alcohol service protocol and culture
- Monitor bar and floor cleanliness and flow
- Control all in-house cash and manage cash drops

Community Outreach and Digital Marketing
- Seek networking opportunities to grow the brand
- Support local sales and events initiatives
- Directly support corporate marketing functions and manage venue-specific digital channels
- Generate fun and relevant media content for Ottawa and other corporate uses

Guest Services and Other
- Pre-intro to any larger groups coming in that week
