Job description Summary

The role of Data Analyst will work closely with the Data Engineer and AVP, Finance to facilitate all data analytics functions for the organization. You will work directly in our Power BI software to build dashboards, models, and other functions as required. You will also complete other ad hoc priorities designed to further the business.

What You’ll Do
- Daily focus on Power BI to create and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations, decision-making models and other needs for internal clients.
- Work with cross functional teams to understand and analyze business needs, to design and develop interfaces and visualizations in Power BI and to train stakeholders when completed.
- Work closely with Data engineer to develop and implement data analysis, data collection systems and other strategies to optimize usage of data lake/warehouse and quality of data.
- Performing data audits, identify data collection issues, suggest improvements and automated data checks to improve data quality efficiently.
- Develop and execute the organization's data strategy, including data governance, data quality standards, and data architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Proactive investigation of data validation issues
- Track all deliverables and update between Stakeholders to ensure timelines & all milestones are met in all project phases, the ability to work across multiple functional areas is essential.
- Communicate with stakeholders’ statuses of deliverables and flag potential risks and delays to projects.
- Act as Key point of contact for stakeholders and team to ensure they have what they need.
- Responsible for designing the live dashboards, testing and troubleshooting the system before go-live.
- Define visualization best practices, help with dashboard optimization, and explore new sources of data representation to uncover new business opportunities at all levels of the business (strategic to operational)
- Maintain and expand your knowledge of BI and current technology through training opportunities.
- Create and maintain documentation and training material for all dashboards and reports.
- Ad hoc special projects as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI is a must have
- Analytical, problem solving and organizational aptitude
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Data/Business + Data Analysis experience
- Experience handling large sets of data preferred
- Able to easily communicate complex analytical details, depending on the audience
- Excellent communication, verbal and written
- Effective project management skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Python is an asset

Training/Education/Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in finance, business analysis and reporting function
