**Job Description** Mission**

We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Municipal Transportation Team supporting road reconstruction projects in southern Ontario. You will oversee road reconstruction projects during the construction phase and manage and work with our technical experts to provide construction inspection services. Your role will be important in the support of building and maintaining communities.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications
- Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions.
- Prepare inspection reports by using data gathered while in the field including identifying and monitoring deficiencies
- Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues
- Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations
- Coordinate third-party geotechnical investigations, and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt and liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required

**Qualifications**
- Technical degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field
- Minimum of three years of related experience in municipal/civil engineering construction inspection
- Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects
- MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
