**_ The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of NetBackup administration and provide technical guidance and support to junior (L1) NetBackup administrators._**

**_
- **

**_ This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of Incident Reports (IRs) and/or proactive needs for business._**

**_
- **
**_ Responsibilities_**:**_ _**
- **_Managing and Troubleshooting day to day backup operations_**

**_ _**
- **_Defines policies and standards for the use of NetBackup. _**
- **_Capacity management, etc. for bottlenecks & issues_**

**_ _**
- **_Ensure quality standards in release._**

**_ _**
- **_Take care of incidents, escalate to CLIENT or 3_**_rd_**_ parties as necessary._**

**_ _**
- **_Perform root cause analysis for P1/P2/P3 and P4 incidents and/or proactively based on business needs._**

**_ _**
- **_Work with the right teams within Genpact, CLIENT or 3_**_rd_**_ parties for the implementation of change_**

**_ _**
- **_Follow the required policies and procedures for the incident, problem and change management._**

**_ _**
- **_Ensure service performance expectations are met with service levels and quality._**

**_ _**
- **_Raise/escalate any service-related issues and risks to Genpact Track lead and/or CLIENT Track Lead_**

**_ _**
- **_Knowledgeable about the Tape Backups and related troubleshooting methods._**

**_ _**
- **_Well versed with basics of Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Solaris etc._**

**_ _**
- **_Hands-on experience with Tape Libraries and how they are handled._**

**_ _**
- **_Has knowledge on Tape encryption._**

**_ _**
- **_Hands-on experience on NDMP Backups and their configuration._**

**_ _**
- **_Hands-on experience on NetBackup Catalog recovery and its procedures._**

**_ _**
- **_Knowledgeable about Exchange backups._**

**_ _**
- **_Hands-on experience on NetBackup installations, upgrades on all levels (Master Server, Media Server and Clients) on Windows as well as UNIX._**

**_ _**
- **_Hands-on experience with troubleshooting on restores._**

**_ _**

**_ _**

**_Must have good trouble shooting and analytical skills. _**

**_Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)._**

**_ _**

**_High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills._**

**_Able to work under mínimal supervision._**

- **_Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream._**

- **_ Preferred Qualifications/ Skills_**_ _**
- **_Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred._**

- **_Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), integration across Incident, Problem & Change (IPC) Management._**

- **_Knowledge about other products like BMC Control-M(CM), Cross File Transfer (CFT), Connect Direct and NetBackup is preferred._**

**_ _**
- **_Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting._**

**_ _**
- **_Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams._**

**_ _**
- **_Strong analytical and problem-solving skills._**

**_ _**

**_ _**
- **_Specialized knowledge in specific areas allowing them to tackle intricate problems._**

- **_Collaboration with L1 Support to provide guidance and share insights for ongoing issue resolution._**

- **_Strong problem-resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and the team partnership and collaboration._**

- **_Escalation to L3 Support in timely manner when challenges require an even higher level of expertise and/or experience._**
