- The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of NetBackup administration and provide technical guidance and support to junior (L1) NetBackup administrators._
- This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of Incident Reports (IRs) and/or proactive needs for business._
- Responsibilities_
- _Managing and Troubleshooting day to day backup operations_
- _Defines policies and standards for the use of NetBackup._
- _Capacity management, etc. for bottlenecks & issues_
- _Ensure quality standards in release._
- _Take care of incidents, escalate to CLIENT or 3rd parties as necessary._
- _Perform root cause analysis for P1/P2/P3 and P4 incidents and/or proactively based on business needs._
- _Work with the right teams within Genpact, CLIENT or 3rd parties for the implementation of change_
- _Follow the required policies and procedures for the incident, problem and change management._
- _Ensure service performance expectations are met with service levels and quality._
- _Raise/escalate any service-related issues and risks to Genpact Track lead and/or CLIENT Track Lead_
- _Knowledgeable about the Tape Backups and related troubleshooting methods._
- _Well versed with basics of Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Solaris etc._
- _Hands-on experience with Tape Libraries and how they are handled._
- _Has knowledge on Tape encryption._
- _Hands-on experience on NDMP Backups and their configuration._
- _Hands-on experience on NetBackup Catalog recovery and its procedures._
- _Knowledgeable about Exchange backups._
- _Hands-on experience on NetBackup installations, upgrades on all levels (Master Server, Media Server and Clients) on Windows as well as UNIX._
- _Hands-on experience with troubleshooting on restores._
- _Must have good trouble shooting and analytical skills._
- _Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)._
- _High energy, results driven person with strong interpersonal skills._
- _Able to work under mínimal supervision._
- Qualifications we seek in you_
- Minimum Qualifications_
- _Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream._

- Preferred Qualifications/ Skills_
- _Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred._
- _Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), integration across Incident, Problem & Change (IPC) Management._
- _Knowledge about other products like BMC Control-M(CM), Cross File Transfer (CFT), Connect Direct and NetBackup is preferred._
- _Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting._
- _Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams._
- _Strong analytical and problem-solving skills._
- _Specialized knowledge in specific areas allowing them to tackle intricate problems._
- _Collaboration with L1 Support to provide guidance and share insights for ongoing issue resolution._
- _Strong problem-resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and the team partnership and collaboration._
- _Escalation to L3 Support in timely manner when challenges require an even higher level of expertise and/or experience._
- _Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders in implementation of new functionality and solving problems._
- _Strong communication skills (written and verbal)._
- _Capability to coordinate and execute projects assigned. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting._
