This summer 2024, we are offering an exciting opportunity for an **Administrative Assistant **to join our team. _**This position is a quality job placement under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program**_

**About the Role**:
As an Administrative Assistant for our Summer Jobs Program, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization. Your responsibilities will include:

- Provide administrative support for efficient organization operations.
- Assist with scheduling, communication, and event coordination.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as drafting communications and managing mail.
- Maintain filing systems and prepare reports.
- Support the Board of Directors and program evaluation processes.
- Coordinate event logistics and respond to inquiries.
- Undertake special projects and liaise with partners.
- Schedule meetings, promote membership, and support advocacy efforts.
- Act as a liaison with BLFA’s partners, fostering joint partnerships, ventures, and event collaborations.
- Attend relevant meetings to represent BLFA's interests and contribute innovative ideas to ongoing initiatives.

**Requirements**:

- Enrolled in a recognized Canadian Post-Secondary institution, pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, or related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, including advanced knowledge of Visual Basics Analysis and Macros.
- Demonstrate practical skills in organization and communication to effectively carry out administrative tasks and facilitate smooth communication within the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Passionate about humanitarian work and community engagement.
- Ability to speak both French and English is an asset but not required.

**About You**:
**(a) You are between 15 and 35 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment**

(b) You are a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c. 27], and

(c) You are legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible, but recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
