**Surveillance Operator**

**SUMMARY**: Are you an analytical thinker who enjoys learning about and has the ability to retain, recall and follow numerous rules, policies, and procedures if so, this is the job for you. Century Casino St. Albert is looking for a dynamic and reliable team member that can provide a high level of customer service and has the ability to communicate problems and situations clearly; both verbally and written. Responsible for all electronic video surveillance systems in order to observe and monitor customers and employees for any violations of the Alberta Gaming Terms and Conditions or company policies and procedures, to report violations as required, and to ensure for the safety and security of all customers, employees, and company assets. Uphold and maintain the integrity of the casino to the best of their abilities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Demonstrates an intermediate to advanced literacy in computers including Windows software and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of casino operations and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission’s Terms and Condition. Demonstrated effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, which includes contacts with staff members, police, AGLC and other regulatory officials. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work. Demonstrated experience in surveillance operations, preferably within a gaming environment. Demonstrated effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, which includes experience handling difficult and sensitive surveillance investigations. Demonstrated technical knowledge of computers and their multiple uses. Demonstrates a good understanding of basic math skills. Demonstrated mature and responsible behavior at all times and has a high level of integrity in order to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while managing personal stress levels and staying calm during peak business levels. This position requires the ability to maintain focus for large periods of times while seated in front of monitors. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

It is an asset to have three (3) or more years of recent experience as a surveillance operator. Experience in the gaming industry is also an asset.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**

If hired for the position you must obtain a valid and current Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission Gaming License (Century will help with this process) and any other Alberta Gaming and Liquor Control registration requirements.

**REASONING ABILITY**

Takes actions, makes recommendations, beyond the scope of essential duties, which may positively or negatively impact other departments.

**OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

Knowledge of Century Casino, FINTRAC and AGLC’s policies and procedures and how they pertain to surveillance. Must have and maintain professional radio communication when communicating with security and slots over the radio. Knowledge of a phonetic alphabet beneficial.

Essential duties involve working with large numbers of people from different departments over the phone or radio while primarily in an inside environment.

**MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED**

Various general office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines, photocopiers, shredders, and telephones. Surveillance system equipment including monitors, controls for the camera, recording devices and communication radios.
