**The Opportunity**:
Do you have a high mechanical aptitude and well developed communication, interpersonal, and organization skills? Are you experienced in navigating communication systems in mining and dashboard monitoring systems? We’re hiring a Mine Tech Support Technician

As the Mine Tech Support Technician, you will support the operational and maintenance of three communication stationary towers, contribute to the Motorola 2-way radios system coverage of entire site, and provide network support in the mine.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Support the operational and maintenance of three communication stationary towers. (2-400 foot towers and 1-300 foot tower)
- Motorola 2-way radios system coverage of entire site
- Provide network support in the mine with CISCO 9124 radios and Redline Wireless communication
- Support the introduction and maintenance of LTE Network during year 2024 - Rogers’ service provider
- Support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of Collision Avoidance System - Wabtec service supplier
- Support the communication needs of the Plant and Mine Operations and respond to outages
- Troubleshoot and repair the Modular related hardware when required to ensure communication with heavy equipment OEM systems
- Perform satellite radio installation and operation maintenance on the Albian fleet of heavy equipment (e.g. 797 Trucks, support equipment - graders, dozers)
- Work on projects for the different business units related to communication requirements
- Work with contractors to complete projects under the Mine Maintenance Communication Group
- Participate in safety programs and comply with all Health and Safety Requirements established by the provincial and organizational standards

**Other Details**:

- Job location: Fort McMurray - Albian Oil Sands site
- Shift schedule: 7 x7, 12 hours/day, Tuesday rotation start
- Night shift schedule required
- This is a safety sensitive position

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Formal training in the field of communications with a certificate acquired at College/ Technical School
- Electronics Engineering Technician Diploma (or training equivalent)
- Grade 12 or GED required
- 5+ years’ experience in the communication field supporting systems in a mining operation environment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Previous Equipment experience with Motorola radios, Modular mining systems, WIFI radio experience and knowledge of maintenance/operation of mobile and stationary communication towers
- Knowledge programing different configurations in the different types of communication equipment
- Prior work experience in a similar position within the Oil and Gas industry, mining or construction sectors considered an advantage
- Experience with the Maximo computer maintenance system (IBM) is an asset
