**Position Summary**:

**Responsibilities**:

- Physical characterization of electrode materials using SEM, XRF, TEM, etc.
- Complete cell testing and integration; includes providing data and competitive analysis.
- Create and perform detailed performance and durability analysis to provide insight on cell performance and improvement levels.
- Overcome integration challenges and provide solutions for pouch cell testing and validation.
- Post mortem analysis of cells and electrodes
- Lead market benchmark studies and recommendations to support and influence development strategies, R&D target, and performance evaluation.
- Develop data analysis tools including meta-analysis and cross projects comparisons.
- Support scale up efforts and determine parameters impacting structure versus performance.
- Develop failure analysis techniques and protocols, understand failure modes, and propose path forward.

**Qualifications**:

- Technical degree(s) in engineering, materials science or chemistry. Masters/PhD degree would be an asset.
- 2 - 4 years of Lithium-ion Battery experience, ideally, in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in Statistical Analysis and Experimental Design to test hypotheses.
- Previous experience in cathode powder synthesis, electrode production, coin & pouch cells fabrication, testing and diagnostics.
- Experience with a wide range of anode active materials, cathode active materials, electrolytes, and electrolyte additives that are best in class and found in commercial products.
- Previous experience working in an inert gas glovebox and dry room environment.
- Experience with commercial cell charging equipment (Arbin, MACCOR, Neware)
- Self learner with demonstrated passion to stay current on renewable energy policy, market trends and other influencing factors.
- Demonstrated integration and data analysis capabilities.
- Highly analytical, structured thinker who can work with complex data sets, drive insights and clearly communicate findings.
