Part-time Motel Front Desk Clerk

Responsibilities:
1. Guest Check-In and Guest Check-Out:
- Welcome guests, process check-ins and check-outs.
- Provide information about the motel's amenities, local attractions, and services.
- Handle guest requests, reservations, and room assignments.
2. Guest Services:
- Assist guests with any inquiries or issues, such as room changes, billing questions, and local area information.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor to ensure a positive guest experience.
3. Night Audit:
- Perform nightly audits, including reconciling the day's financial transactions.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports, such as occupancy and revenue reports.
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.
4. Security and Safety:
- Monitor the motel premises and respond to any security concerns.
- Implement safety procedures and handle emergency situations as needed.
5. Administrative Duties:
- Manage reservations and cancellations.
- Keep the front desk area tidy and organized.
**Requirements**:
1. **Customer Service Skills**: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests professionally and courteously.
2.**Attention to Detail**: Accuracy in financial reporting and handling guest information.
3.**Problem-Solving Abilities**: Capability to handle guest complaints and unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
4.**Basic Accounting Knowledge**: Understanding of basic accounting principles for night audit duties.
5.**Computer Proficiency**: Familiarity with reservation systems, office software, and possibly accounting software.
6.**Flexibility**: Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or accounting is often preferred.
- Physical Requirements: The job may require standing for long periods and occasional lifting of luggage or supplies.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
