Front Desk Receptionist

Jones Family Chiropractic is a well established chiropractic clinic in a high traffic location of Red Deer. We offer chiropractic care, massage therapy with registered therapists, custom orthotics, and other related health services. We are looking for an excellent addition to our family-run practice. The responsibilities of the front desk reception position include providing excellent customer service to all visitors, providing professional and proficient support to the practitioners of the clinic, and maintaining organization and accuracy of all required front desk functions as follows:
- greeting and welcoming patients who enter the clinic
- preparing chiropractic treatment rooms and assisting patients as needed
- answering phone calls
- scheduling and editing appointments
- managing patient files
- general cleaning and organization of reception area, clinic spaces, and treatment rooms, maintenance/management of massage implements
- pulling and refiling patient charts
- processing third party insurance claims
- processing payments
- completing/balancing daily cash outs
- managing correspondence and billing for vehicle insurance claims
- management of general customer service/reception tasks like inquiries, corrections, customer account maintenance, technical issues, customer resolutions
- tracking and ordering inventory and supplies
- general support to practitioners like patient correspondence, inquiries, or account resolution
Skills required for this position include excellent customer service, proficient computer literacy, and conflict resolution. Experience with third party insurance claims would be a great asset. Specific skills are as follows:
- Proficient understanding of accounts receivable functions (A/R experience would be a great asset)
- Experience with appointment scheduling and A/R software (ChiroSuite experience would be a great asset)
- Proficient ability to read stepwise instructions and follow precisely, including training manuals, correspondence, technical instructions, and procedures
- Those with experience in processing third party insurance eClaims will be considered first.
- Proficiency in balancing daily cash outs that include POS transactions, cash, cheques, and third party provider payments
- Time management and the ability to multi-task/transition between tasks without delays
- Maintain professional demeanor in all situations involving our valued customers
- Capability to reach overhead and lift up to 20kg, if needed. Capability to perform light cleaning duties like vacuuming, laundry, dusting, and wiping down high traffic surfaces
- Faxing, scanning, organizing and storing documents
- Typing proficiency would be an asset
Education requirements include:
- Highschool diploma
- 1+ years of post secondary education in business administration, accounting, or comparable
Work Experience requirements include:
- 1+ years front desk/reception experience (preferably in a health or medical setting)
- 1+ years customer service experience
- 1+ employee reference
Current schedule will be Monday 11am to 6pm and Friday 7:30am to 2:30pm. More hours could be available to cover holidays, sick time, etc.
