**Job Details**

**Position Title**: Audio-Visual Technology Specialist
**Status**: FT Support
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week
**Program/Department**: Academic & Campus Technology Services
**Campus/Location**: 207 Humber College Blvd. (North Campus); hybrid work environment combining in office collaboration (3 days per week) and remote working (2 days per week).
**Salary**: Payband I - $36.19 - $41.94

**What you will do**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Academic & Campus Technology Services, the Audio-Visual Technology Specialist provides comprehensive, front-line technology support of AV, Digital Classroom and Computing systems, ensuring their proper functioning, maintenance, and integration into various educational and administrative settings. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall educational experience by providing high-quality audio-visual services to faculty, staff, and students.

**Responsibilities include**:

- **Technical User Support & Training**: resolves AV incidents and service requests, handling both recurring and unique problems related to AV hardware and software. Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for academic classrooms, labs, and meeting rooms, responding to service calls and walk-in requests. Monitors the Helpdesk tool daily, processing and escalating tickets as necessary. Sets up multimedia presentations, test classroom technology, and develops contingency plans for potential technology failures. Delivers training programs, create user guides, and maintains documentation to educate and empower faculty, staff, and students in using AV equipment effectively.
- **Maintenance and Equipment Management**: responsible for maintaining operational classroom technology and minimizing any potential downtime. Monitors inventory for AV, Events, and Instructional technology, ensuring proper accountability and promptly reports any changes to the Manager. Conducts preventative maintenance and readiness checks on technology-enhanced classrooms, escalating any concerns to management. Contributes to software image creation and maintenance, and assist with mobile computer projects as needed. Coordinates with external vendors and partners for repairs and maintain podium Crestron systems, including upgrades and repairs facilitated by third-party vendors.
- **Event Support & Production**: provides audio-visual support for University events, including guest lectures, performances, workshops, and conferences. Oversees the setup and operation of AV equipment, manages live streaming and recording services, and troubleshoots any technical issues during the events. Works closely with event organizers to understand their requirements and deliver exceptional audio-visual experiences.
- **AV Technology Integration and Innovation**: collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to integrate audio-visual technologies into classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, and other campus spaces. Works closely with other technology teams to ensure seamless integration of audio-visual systems with other technologies. Stays updated on emerging audio-visual technologies and makes recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements. Researches instructional technology developments to enhance the learning experience, prepares proposals and secures buy-in and budget approval from management.
