**What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will:

- provide customer service to internal and external Geo Labs clients
- maintain lab sample flow by receiving, logging, inspecting all geological samples while also identifying any anomalies
- collaboratively work with scientists and technologists to establish priorities and turn around times to meet client needs
- calculate, track and follow up on lab costs and invoices and send for processing
- coordinate and implement external marketing events
- ensure compliance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards and develop, implement and analyze annual client surveys and identify trends and recommend service improvements
- coordinate archiving tracking and disposal of geological samples

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory requirements**:

- You must possess a minimum of a college degree in chemical technology from a recognized community college or technical institute or equivalent experience in chemistry or earth sciences.
- You must possess or be able to acquire a Level 1 X-Ray Fluorescent Operator Certification (Certificate of Non-Destructive Testing Personnel Certification).

**Technical knowledge and experience**:

- You have demonstrated technical knowledge and experience of laboratory procedures, chemical technology, and geotechnical processes to process, analyze and identify anomalies and hazardous material involving geological samples.
- You are knowledgeable in conducting scientific research and testing principles, practices and methodologies to select proper analytical packages and provide accurate quotes and technical advice to clients.
- You possess knowledge of laboratory data management practices and procedures to accurately receive, log and dispose of samples.

**Analytical and investigative skills**:

- You possess analytical skills to be able to evaluate geological samples and to decide on which samples should be discarded or returned to clients.
- You demonstrate investigative skills to be able to research sample information and determine which samples are hazardous.
- You have problem solving skills to interpret errors, resolve process issues, and are able to respond to internal and external client issues.
- You possess good judgment skills to select the appropriate analysis for samples, determine how received samples should be allocated and prepare and distribute work to laboratory staff and to properly classify them in the filing of sample information.

**Communication skills**:

- You possess well developed communication skills to interact with clients, resolve problems that may arise and provide advice and recommendations to staff and managers in a diplomatic fashion while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- You have written communication skills to prepare reports, marketing events and fair documentation and to create invoices for clients.

**Other essential skills**:

- You are well organized and able to manage multiple priorities and adjust workload priorities in a fast paced, high volume environment.
- You possess an understanding of financial policies, and laboratory procedures to generate invoices for clients by gathering the appropriate information.
