**OUR ORGANIZATION**

Safety Services Nova Scotia, a non profit association and leader in providing safety services is seeking to hire a Book Keeper to manage a variety of programs/services and to manage the people that provide them. We are about delivering exceptional client experiences and quality safety services.

**SCOPE OF POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the CEO and working with the team, this positon ensures the overall integrity of the financial system and is responsible to ensure all records are posted and recorded in a timely manner. Responsible for accounts payable, receivables, deposits, payroll, CRA and WCB filing. Works with the audit firm to ensure they have what the need during the annual audit. A key role is ensuring managers have the financial information they require to forecast, budget and make marketing decisions.

Reporting to the CEO and working with the team, this position is also responsible for business operations and files such as insurance renewals, group health, vacation tracking, cell phone contracts, set up contracts for building cleaning/recycling/garbage.

JOB SPECIFIC:

- Degree, diploma or certification in Accounting and/or Business Administration. Or equivalent experience/education.
- Knowledge of General Accounting Principles for Associations.

- TASKS:_
- _Responsible to manage all aspects finance & business operations_
- **ACCOUNTING**_
- _Accounts receivable, payable._
- _Payroll, tax and CRA requirements._
- _Preparation for annual audit._
- _Reconciling monthly._
- _Providing quarterly statements for the Board of Directors._
- _Providing monthly revenue statements for the managers._
- _Coordinating with reception on cash reconciliation._
- _Providing expertise and advice to managers regarding pricing, revenue generation and other financial decisions they have._
- **BUSINESS OPERATIONS**_
- _Ensuring annual renewals are timely such as insurance, contracts, etc._
- _Ensuring WCB filing is current._
- _Setting up and maintaining group health for staff._
- _Track vacation and sick time for CEO._
- _Set up cell phone contracts for managers._
- _Set up contracts for cleaning, garbage, recycling, coffee service, etc._
- _Manage classroom rentals._
- _Main contact for tenants._

**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
