Communications Lead - Contract Duration: 24 Months
The LCBO is embarking on an unparalleled enterprise-wide modernization, called Future State Modernization (FSM), of all IT infrastructure, systems, and supports to catalyze a transformation that will improve the way the organization works across the business. This massive undertaking requires the expertise of a well-seasoned Corporate Communications Lead to drive the understanding, readiness, risk mitigation, and adoption required to enable successful change.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications & Corporate Digital Content, the Communications Lead is the key point of delivery for strategic communications initiatives on LCBO’s FSM program and for ensuring the effective integration of communications solutions to the business in a way that is aligned to culture, strategy, and FSM business objectives.
You will be a critical partner to the FSM program and Change Management Leads, and a go-to expert for senior leaders across the organization, proactively planning and executing internal and external strategic and operational communications, spanning several phases through the course of the program.

About the Role
- Responsible for the development and delivery of enterprise-wide and divisional internal and external communications strategies against of priorities and goals as defined by our FSM program roadmap and that enable strategy and shift culture. Plans must address needs and considerations of multiple stakeholders and audiences.
- Proactively brings ongoing internal engagement in the program to life, leveraging all internal communications channels and touchpoints.
- Ensure client leaders are enabled to bring comms to life and to drive FSM business outcomes through constructive change communications leadership.
- Work directly with Program Lead with oversight of the Steering Committee, the Transformation Partner, and functional stakeholder to ensure communications strategies effectively drive understanding, readiness, risk mitigation, and adoption across all areas and with mínimal disruption to the organization/operations.
- Create, design, and deliver all necessary internal and external communications assets to support the successful implementation of the FSM program across the organization.
- Embed and promote these communication assets with all relevant stakeholder groups for purpose of change communications.
- Anticipate and integrate future trends on communication strategies and all comms engagement tools.
- Operate independently on communications items directly tied to FSM program, and working collaboratively with senior leaders of broader Corporate Communications team on the execution of FSM program communications that require positioning in context of enterprise-wide priorities and opportunities (i.e., CEO communications, LCBO-wide activities and events).
- Work with the FSM Transformation Partner (system integrator) to counsel on LCBO communication practices, validate communications and engagement plans, and align on communications strategies and activities.
About You
- University Degree in Communications or Public Relations or related field.
- 8+ years of experience, at least five of which are at a manager level supporting executives.
- Significant experience in leading corporate communications, public relations, and issues management with proven experience in driving desired business outcomes, identifying risks, and agility in identifying solutions in fast-pace, evolving situations.
- A thought-leader in leveraging all internal communications channels and touchpoints, including in a unionized environment.
- Experience with change management and communicating key initiatives across multiple target audiences.
- Results-oriented - proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive integrated communications and engagement strategies to help achieve business and program objectives.
- Strategic orientation - ability to execute flawlessly across multiple communications channels according to strategic plans.
- Outstanding project management and written/verbal communications skills.
- Relationship management - can work independently and collaboratively; self-motivated and disciplined to meet deadlines in the context of competing priorities and projects; lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
