We are transforming the way we work and want you to be a part of it. The Yard Inspector is responsible for inspecting and grading all received ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials, verifying material quality and ensuring deductions are made for non-conforming or zero value materials.

**When**:

- Monday to Friday: 7am to 5:00pm, Weekends as required

**Role Expectations**:

- Thoroughly inspects received loads and executes deductions for non-conforming materials in accordance with operational policies and procedures in order to verify that material conforms to established quality specifications and non-payment for items of zero value
- Issues yard tickets noting customer, carrier and material type
- Reports to Supervisor all incidents of non-compliance with location specific policies and procedures
- Directs incoming traffic into the yard advising drivers when and where to offload shipment’s and allowing for appropriate traffic flow
- Performs yard maintenance duties ensuring roadways are clear and free of obstructions allowing truck traffic to flow through the yard in an efficient and effective manner
- Performs Non Ferrous recoveries (when assigned) in accordance with applicable procedures and supervisory direction Picks Non Ferrous metals from Ferrous piles upgrading material where possible
