**Program Associate, Community Food Box**
**(Full-Time)**

Reporting to the Hub Manager the Program Associate is responsible for providing customer service and support to clients who need food security through the provision of the Food Box Program. This position with the support of the Community Food Box Service Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of volunteers for delivery and packing, create drive sheets, client intake and the overall administration of the Food Box Program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
**Coordinates client service**:

- Reminder calls to clients and volunteers
- Coordinate with Service Coordinator, for weekly numbers for outgoing food boxes
- Takes client orders and enters into CCD database
- Coordinates with other hubs for delivery of service
- Delivers food boxes to clients

**Provides Volunteer Management**
- Assists with, training and site-specific orientation to food boxes
- Schedules volunteers for weekly delivery of food boxes and forecasts future volunteer demands
- Creates route sheets for volunteer delivery and cargo van driver

**Administration**
- Enters Cargo Van Driver hours into CCD Database
- Enters volunteer PAP into CCD Database

**Packing and Assembly of Food Boxes**:

- Responsible to pack and fill the CFB
- Work in a warehouse environment; accepting deliveries, opening cartons, lifting and stacking, filling boxes, organizing the boxes for delivery
- Coordinating with volunteers the contents to go into boxes, and establishing a system for ensuring accuracy of contents

**Qualifications required**:

- Completion of Food and Nutrition Studies or similar is an asset
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (bona fide occupational requirement)
- Valid “G” or “G2” driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle
- Proven knowledge of the principles and practices of community support services and scheduling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication teamwork and organizational skills
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with database entry and maintenance
- Knowledge of the needs of the elderly, individuals with mental health issues and persons with disabilities
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Sensitivity to adults with needs related to aging, physical and/or mental health
- Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies

**Compensation**:Starting at $33,215 annually; three (3) weeks’ vacation per year of work; 11 paid (including stat) holidays; health, insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
- Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience

**Salary**: From $33,215.00 per year

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
