**Hybrid work environment** _(opportunity to work from home up to 2 days a week)_

**Start Date: ASAP**

**About The Role**:
When you work in operations at EF, you play a vital role in fulfilling the company’s mission: Opening the World Through Education. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be the face of EF Educational Tours to our suppliers in select destinations and a key member of the passionate, high-achieving, and fun Operations Team. In this highly visible role, you are responsible for identifying new suppliers (e.g., hotels, restaurants, and attractions), managing existing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and strategically securing inventory with suppliers. You are the local destination expert and will work cross-functionally with other operational teams to produce life-changing travel experiences for our students and teachers. You will collaborate closely with the Finance team to set and manage budgets throughout the year.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Manage existing supplier partnerships.
- Prospect for new suppliers to meet the needs of our growing business.
- Negotiate contracts that create mutually beneficial relationships around capacity, quality, and price.
- On-board new suppliers to ensure they understand and are prepared to serve our customers.
- Monitor customer feedback on supplier quality and intervene when necessary.
- Become an expert on the student travel industry and craft strategic and innovative approaches to contracting and relationship management based on that expertise.
- Analyze travel patterns and inventory availability to understand sourcing needs and set goals.
- Manage operational budgets.
- Support sales staff with expert product knowledge to help them prepare our customers before travelling.

**Who You Are**:

- You have contracting and/or business development experience
- You’re able to think creatively and solve problems under pressure
- You’re a persuasive communicator and natural networker who loves talking to people
- You don’t subscribe to the phrase, “that’s not my job”
- You nail the details while moving quickly, never losing sight of the big picture
- You know that you can negotiate effectively and you’re not afraid to prove it
- Going above and beyond is the only way you do things
- You are able to travel (to supplier visits and conferences)
- You have a driver’s license
- Bilingual in English and French is not mandatory, but certainly an asset

**Why You’ll Love Working Here**:

- Paid international travel at least once a year (more as you grow with us)
- Robust professional growth opportunities including monthly trainings, workshops, and inspiring talks with global leaders and experts
- Three weeks paid vacation your first year (four weeks starting in year two) and nine paid holidays
- 20% company match on your RRSP (25% after 5-years)
- Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage, along with life and disability insurance, plus unlimited sick days
- Wellness benefits including $500 yearly fitness reimbursement
- EF program discounts including travel, language schools, childcare, and more
- Discounts at local venues and businesses
- Eligibility for our Workplace Flexibility Program: our pilot hybrid work model with up to two days of remote work per week.
- Competitive compensation including bonus earning potential.

EF is family-owned, has a staff of nearly 60,000 people, and operates out of 600 offices in over 100 countries around the world. As a privately held company, EF has the advantage of being flexible and able to make decisions for the long-term success of the company. We have certainly experienced our share of travel-related obstacles and seemingly impossible situations - but have bounced back stronger each time.

EF Educational Tours organizes and leads educational trips for teachers and their students across the globe. At EF Educational Tours, we believe in one simple truth - that the world is better when people try to understand one another. Our tours help students expand their knowledge of the world around them, understand new people, places, and cultures, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident and independent.
