You will be responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of direct and indirect production materials, including capital equipment, items in support of maintenance and repair, supplies used in operations, as well as other goods and services to support the site. While the role will involve some individual work, you will also work with our Lab Operations and Admin team members to effectively execute the procure to pay workstream. In addition, you get to play a role in continuously improving our processes.

**What you will be doing**
- Building relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing, obtain order confirmations and lead-times, resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, and report quality concerns.
- Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency and evaluating vendor performance for improvements in supply and service.
- Maintaining purchase records in the ERP system (NetSuite) including creating Purchase Orders, receiving items in the system, maintaining packing slips, invoices and related records.
- Analyzing purchasing, including purchase price variances and areas for improvement of purchasing efficiency and providing reports to management.

- Interfacing with our ERP system (NetSuite) and our Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS).

**About Us**

Nomic was founded with a simple but ambitious goal: to make biology easier to measure. We’ve developed **nELISA**, the world’s highest throughput proteomic platform, by tackling some of the toughest challenges in protein profiling through a combination of DNA nanotechnology, high-dimensional flow cytometry, lab automation, and machine learning.

Since spinning out of McGill University, we’ve partnered with dozens of top-tier drug discovery groups, including 6 of the top 10 pharma companies, and have profiled over 60 million proteins from more than 400,000 samples to date.

We recently closed a $42M Series B round, which is helping us scale rapidly to meet growing demand and expand our platform’s capabilities. You can read more about this in our latest press release. Our state-of-the-art facility is capable of profiling over 2.5 million samples a year, generating 500 million protein assays.

We’re a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and problem-solvers who thrive on breaking down difficult challenges using first principles thinking, and we leverage the latest scientific and technological breakthroughs to drive our mission forward.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone that can multi-task, keeping all things related to procurement running smoothly. You are organized, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and don’t mind “rolling up your sleeves” to do what it takes to get the job done.

You have a great deal of initiative and are self-motivated in looking for ways to improve workflows and increase efficiency.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, ideally in the biotech industry and experience working closely with a scientific team.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software, NetSuite experience a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong time-management skills including the ability to effectively multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills as well as possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to document all work clearly and completely.
- Fluency in English is required as our customers and vendors are primarily located in the USA. In addition, this position will interact with our team members within our USA entity.

**Location**

Montreal, Canada or San Francisco Bay Area. While this position could be remote, occasional travel to our Montreal site will be required (eg. once per quarter).
