We are currently looking for that special someone with great creative cooking skills to join our culinary team. Brand new kitchen with all the latest equipment and the unique opportunity to be part of an amazing team

**Position: Cook PT Weekends**

**Shifts: Part Time Weekends**

**What we are expecting**:

- At least one year’s previous experience in large quantity, fast paced environment preferably in healthcare or retirement home setting
- Preparation of meals offered on the menu, soups and desserts
- Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Assemble plates of food
- Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
- Peel and cut vegetables for meals
- Perform other related duties
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Comfortable standing, stooping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate of Qualification in the trade of Cook or Institutional Cook from a recognized Apprenticeship program or College;
- Valid Food Handlers Safety Awareness certification;
- Previous professional experience in large volume cooking in an asset;
- Strong written and spoken English
