**Program Overviews**:
**Touchstone Place Clubhouse** provides an environment where adults with mental health challenges can develop a support network and cultivate their potential based on needs and goals common to all people, and not restricted by their illnesses. We balance this with understanding, acceptance, empathy and support. The Employment Support Worker operates out of Touchstone Place and provides support to members seeking employment, including work experience and skill building.

**Position Overview**:The Employment Support Worker receives direction and support from the Manager of Adult Mental Health Services and their role is to provide a program that will increase the individual served overall wellbeing by:

- Providing supervision and support for volunteer and employment opportunities for the individual served to improve specific job skills and overall employability;
- Empower the individual served through employment skill development which should include employability skills, resume writing, communication and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills;
- Maintain ongoing records, statistical information, and the individual’s served information to help assess the program, staff and facility;
- Perform Additional Duties as assigned by the Manager of the Adult Mental Health Programs or the Director of Community Services.
- Knowledge of Mental Illness and Mental Health Issues affecting Adults;
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, customs and beliefs, and an understanding of current and emerging issues of importance to Indigenous people and communities;
- Good understanding of health issues affecting adults, such as FASD, drug and alcohol addictions, intergenerational trauma, mental health, suicide and other mental and behavioural issues;
- Good understanding of cultural differences and how they impact treatment approaches;
- Good verbal and written communication skills with proven organizational and documentation skills;
- Able to work well in a team environment with the ability to handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem solving manner is required;
- Strong client relationship skills (ability to get along with all personality types);
- Demonstrates a friendly, vibrant, sociable and understanding personality.

**Qualifications/Experience**:* High School graduate with supplemental courses; education in Community Support Work or related field preferred (_**If education is in Registered profession, must be registered with their professional body*_). Minimally two (2) years of Human Services or Mental Health Support experience preferred. First Aid for Mental Health Certification considered an asset.

**Other Requirements**:A clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector and a Child Intervention Record Check, both dated within the last 6 months. A valid AB driver’s licence (minimum class 5), current driver's abstract (no more than 8 demerits) and a reliable vehicle to use for work purposes.

**Salary & Benefits**:Salary Range is $41,342.00 - $47,937.00** **annually (commensurate with experience). 3-weeks’ vacation accrual to start with an additional week added after 2 years.** We provide full-time employees with a 100% employer-paid health benefits package (which includes vision, dental and prescription drug coverage, massage therapy, etc.) and a 100% employer-paid RRSP equaling 3% of gross salary. We also offer free courses and workshops in-house for all of our employees.
