**Position Responsibilities**
- The School of Trades and Technology is looking for a Sessional Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor, to teach and develop curriculum in the Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship program.
- **Job Duties will include**:
- Maintain, develop and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician Apprenticeship program
- Ongoing planning and curriculum review
- Participate in school, program, and other polytechnic service committees
- Program promotion and student recruitment
- Red Deer Polytechnic’s School Trades and Technology is the third largest Skilled Trades Apprenticeship training provider in Alberta, offering training in **17 Apprenticeship trades** and two **Engineering Technology Diplomas**. **Required Qualifications**
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Equipment Technician
- Inter-provincial Red Seal Certificate
- Minimum 5 years post-journeyperson work experience
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
- Comfortable with public speaking, and able to convey course topics to diverse students and learning styles
**Preferred Qualifications**- Experience teaching post-secondary learners through both in-person and online formats
- Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades
