The Gaming Division ensures gambling in Nova Scotia is socially responsible while making reasonable profits for the government. In performing this role, staff oversee the gaming operators, Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) and Casino Nova Scotia (CNS), who carry out the day-to-day business. The Government, and ultimately the people of Nova Scotia, are the shareholders and owners of the industry.

**About Our Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Gaming Operations, the Manager, Casinos is accountable for leading strategic and operational initiatives related to casino operations that support strategic goals in a socially responsible manner.

Specific accountabilities relate to establishing collaborative relationships, ensuring policies and processes are in place to monitor and report operational and regulatory issues, and actively identifying issues and solutions to mitigate risk.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Communicating priorities and targets related to casino gaming to the third-party casino operator.
- Reviewing Casino Nova Scotia’s business plan and budget, challenging business case and financial assumptions, and upholding accountability for deliverables.
- Monitoring and analyzing financial performance, assessing variances, and developing projections.
- Monitoring and reporting on the status of key initiatives, identifying risk and developing contingency plans/mitigation strategies.
- Leading and managing approved projects to completion.
- Ensuring adherence and compliance to contractual obligations with the third-party casino operator under the Casino Operating Contract.
- Overseeing Casino Nova Scotia’s management of incidents and risk related to casino gaming.
- Preparing regular written reports and presentations.

**About You**:
You are results oriented and well organized, have strong analytical skills, and able to solve problems and make sound business decisions. In addition, you are a strong communicator (written and oral), who interacts effectively with others and positively influences relationships.

You have a university degree in business and five (5) years of relevant corporate experience in one or a combination of financial management, contract management and/or project management. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
