This is an Internship opportunity

**Position Summary**: This pet passionate individual will represent and ‘own’ Instinct® in the neighborhood pet specialty retailer market (Ottawa and area) and work to continually increase distribution and sales of all Instinct® products. They will meet or exceed territory retail sales objectives and brand initiatives.

**Primary Job Responsibilities**
- Manage assigned Sales Territory to achieve sales growth and brand objectives
- Travel within sales territory to meet retail partners and create compelling business proposals to convey Instinct’s point of differentiation and why RAW is the ultimate in Pet Nutrition
- Conduct calls & face-to-face meetings with existing retail stores to identify opportunities for SKU expansion and product placement
- Research and develop pipeline to open new retail accounts for the Instinct® brand
- Develop best-in-class relationships with retail owners, buyers and store personnel
- Train retail associates on Instinct products and brand story
- Create Instinct® merchandised displays and utilize appropriate POS materials in store
- Manage day-to-day operations of sales territory, including regular retailer follow-ups
- Attend and manage associated retailer, consumer and distributor events and trade shows
- Manage, track and report out sales achievements
- Maintain activity reporting system (CRM)
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Experience**:

- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong attention to detail
- Numeric and analytic skills, ability to identify opportunities connecting all data points
- Knowledge of or aptitude for learning about basic animal nutrition
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Although home-based, this individual will be expected to be in stores 90% of their time

**Preferred Experience**
- University Student (year 3, 4 or graduate)
- Digital/social media savvy

**Travel Requirements**:

- Reliable transportation vehicle required and valid driver’s license
- Minimum 4 days in field (weekly) - end of day or each morning to conduct pre & post-call analysis
- Flexible hours based on the needs of the business that may include evening or weekends

**Compensation**:

- $20/hour and Tiered Sales Bonus - based on sales achievement
- $0.67/km Mileage allowance
- Cell Phone Allowance
