Adoption Resources Worker

Reporting to a Manager of an Integrated Team, the incumbent carries out tasks related to the provision of adoption services including recruiting, screening, approving, training, and utilizing adoptive homes for the permanent placement of children. The incumbent also provides adoption disclosure planning, witnessing adoption consents and post adoption services.
- Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion with a commitment to the elimination of disparity and disproportionality in service outcomes
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in adoption specific issues (e.g., related to concurrent planning, permanency, separation and loss, and identity)
- Knowledge and demonstrated skills in family assessment, child development and behaviour and attachment theory
- Ability to provide supportive counselling to adoptive parents and children
- Ability to write clinical assessments, court reports and Ministry documentation
- Ability to complete affidavits and testify in court
- Familiarity with current research and knowledge related to adoption and adoption legislation
- Openness and interest in self-directed learning in addition to agency supported training
- Reliable vehicle, safe driving record and valid G Driver’s License
- Upon offer of employment, submission of a Current Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector), deemed satisfactory to the employer
- Those offered employment will be required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or written medical exemption.
