**About the Opportunity**:
Perioperative Services, Pain Services and Medical Device Reprocessing bank are recognized as complex areas of specialization and involves several specialty areas. The portfolio is inter-professional in focus and is committed to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, innovation and creativity aimed at improved health outcomes. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Director by effectively coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Directors’ offices. The position coordinates all administrative activities, establishes administrative procedures and guidelines and acts as a liaison with the administrative assistants within the portfolio and across the health authority. This position provides additional support to individuals, committees or working groups as assigned.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program
- Undergraduate degree is an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience, providing administrative support and office coordination at the senior management level, preferably within healthcare and within an integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of their department, its policies and procedures, as well a general knowledge of institutional policies and procedures, healthcare legislation, collective agreements and other portfolio's services provided within Nova Scotia Health Authority.
- The incumbent maintains an awareness of internal and external issues that may impact on the department/organization.
- Well-developed abilities and skills in all facets of modern office practices and technology and with information and meeting technologies.
- Works effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritizing and organizational skills.
- Minimal travel to various sites may be required.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
- A skills test will be included as part of the selection process.

**Hours**:

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$22.98 - $28.72 Hourly
