**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Director, Teaching Excellence, the Manager, Indigenous Pedagogy, provides strategic and operational leadership to advance Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, and being as they relate to teaching practices at George Brown College. Working closely with the Teaching and Learning Exchange (TLX) team, Indigenous Initiatives, and the Office of Anti-Racism, Equity, and Human Rights Services, the Manager will lead efforts to embed Indigenous teaching practices into college policies and procedures to advance the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action. They will also oversee professional learning resources and develop external partnerships to elevate the College's leadership in Indigenous Pedagogy.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a framework for integrating Indigenous approaches into teaching and learning across the college.
- Lead the design of professional development programs on Indigenous pedagogy for faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote Indigenous teaching practices across all academic divisions.
- Oversee the creation of learning materials and environments that reflect Indigenous knowledge and values.
- Build and manage external partnerships with Indigenous communities and educational institutions.
- Manage faculty secondees and external contractors, ensuring effective delivery of workshops and initiatives.
- Establish George Brown as a leader in Indigenous Pedagogy through community engagement, conferences, and publications.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- **
Lived experience as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) is required, alongside professional experience working directly with Indigenous communities and stakeholders is required.**
- Master’s degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, or another relevant field is required; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Formal training in Project Management and Change Management is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in the field of Indigenous education and pedagogy, specifically in embedding Indigenous frameworks and knowledge systems into post-secondary education.
- Experience in leading decolonization and reconciliation initiatives in academic or public sectors, aligned with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and instructional design, with a focus on incorporating Indigenous methodologies, philosophies, and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience with policy development related to Indigenous education, equity, and anti-racism, including drafting and implementing institutional frameworks and practices.
- Project management experience in leading cross-departmental initiatives that involve curriculum redesign, faculty training, and community partnerships.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Leadership in Indigenous Pedagogy with demonstrated experience in managing projects focused on decolonization and reconciliation in education.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic frameworks that advance Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing within post-secondary environments.
- Expertise in designing and delivering professional development programs, including workshops and micro-credentials for faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Collaboration and relationship-building skills to work effectively with Indigenous communities, internal academic divisions, and external partners.
- Strong understanding of organizational change management and the ability to lead initiatives in a unionized, academic environment.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and facilitation, with a focus on engaging non-Indigenous colleagues in meaningful reconciliation work.
- Proficiency in creating inclusive learning environments that reflect Indigenous pedagogies and values, ensuring culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Good understanding of relevant human rights legislation (Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, etc.) and educational standards.
