**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

The Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, promoting, and ensuring effective and comprehensive project planning, development, and implementation.

**SCOPE**

The Project Coordinator reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Projects and is responsible for the complete implementation of the project and duties.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Planning, Oversight, and management skills (aligns with senior manager and controller accountant)**

**Main activities**:

- Approve planning and budgets.
- Ensure tracking of data, registrants, participants, kits provided, posters sourced, feedback received.
- Review feedback from Questionnaires and boost social media if attendance poor/engage PTMAS.

**Planning and management skills: (aligns with project officer)**

**Main activities**:

- Event planning (workshops)-times, dates, lengths, venue, logistics
- Procurement/Contracts
- Ability to identify needed resources within budget scope, source via procurement,
- Screening participants against criteria
- Tracking registrants/seat limit/revising communication.
- Ability to facilitate onboarding and contracting of facilitators.
- Tracking eligibility for certificates
- Marketing advertising-Source posters and advertise on social medial.

**Administration /Organization skills (aligns with admin officer)**

**Main activities**:

- Order materials
- Prepare follow up questionnaire.
- Provide childcare/travel reimbursements were eligible and requested.
- Mailing certificates

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- University degree in business management or other related studies or equivalent lived experience working on Indigenous issues will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with NGOs, organizations, interest groups and government, agencies, or business/corporate entities.
- Relevant experience working or volunteering with Indigenous peoples, groups, or organizations is an asset.
- Relevant experience working or volunteering with Not-for-Profit organizations or corporations is an asset.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

**Knowledge**

The employee must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

- Strong knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and internationally, their cultures, histories, and traditions.
- Understanding and knowledge of Indigenous issues, and norms and standards relevant to promotion and protection of Indigenous women’s rights.
- Knowledge of key issues impacting Indigenous women and girls in Canada and internationally.
- Knowledge of government systems and bureaucracy with regards to funding, politics, public policy and legislation.
- Knowledge of strategic and operational planning and program review.
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles and practices.
- Some understanding of social policy (including violence prevention and impacts, housing, etc.).
- Bilingualism is an asset.

**Skills**

The employee must demonstrate the following skills:

- Strong writing and verbal communication skills in both English and French an asset.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to carry out culturally appropriate gender-based analysis (training will be provided);
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize work effectively and under pressure.
- Ability to conduct research in cooperation and consultation with the NWAC Provincial/Territorial Member Associations and with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to carry out research, analyze data, and advance effective advocacy and communication strategies under the supervision of the Managing Director of Programs, Projects, and Events.
