**Responsibilities**

**1) Research and Development**
- Research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources to support CMHA Toronto's programs and services.
- Develop grant proposals, grant reports, and other materials to effectively communicate CMHA Toronto's mission, goals, and impact to potential funders.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and other stakeholders to enhance CMHA Toronto's grant-seeking efforts and secure ongoing support.
- Track and report on grant activities, including funding received, expenditures, and outcomes achieved, to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed about trends and developments in the field of mental health funding and grant making, and incorporate best practices into CMHA Toronto's grant strategy.

**2) **Revenue Management**
- Collaborate with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to develop and implement grants protocol and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive grants pipeline and dashboard to track progress and outcomes.
- Partner with program departments, finance, and shared services to integrate funding processes seamlessly.
- Conduct research to identify funding opportunities aligned with CMHA Toronto's strategic plan and priorities.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, solicitation packages, and other fundraising materials.
- Lead the development and implementation of a funder stewardship and recognition program.
- Work collaboratively across departments to understand program funding needs and craft tailored proposals.
- Collaborate with program leads to develop budgets, timelines, and work plans for funding proposals.
- Produce high-quality reports and narratives to communicate impact to funders.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the CPO on grant activities and outcomes.
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with the funding portfolio and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships and partnerships both internally and externally.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, leading practices, and industry standards in grant management and philanthropy.

- Knowledge of Mental Health: Familiarity with mental health issues and Canadian funding landscape.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.

**Experience & Education Required**:
**Education**
- Equivalent to the completion of two (2) year degree in business, social services, public relations, or marketing.

**Related Experience**
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or related roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling proposals and reports.
- Experience using iWave foundation prospecting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of mental health issues and familiarity with the funding landscape is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, board members, funders, and community partners.
