**Purpose of Position**

Reporting to the Head of Performing Arts, the Living Arts Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the performance-based programs and projects at the Museum, including associate partnerships, co-productions, showcases, and community partnerships. They will ensure the conceptual integration of these programs within the overall programmatic direction of the Museum within the context of and in direct alignment with its mission and vision. They will be overseeing the programming and administration of Living Arts programs (in all its on-site, off-site, and online dimensions), including budgeting, contracting, planning, scheduling, and delivering events on time and on budget. They are also responsible for evaluating and tracking projects to ensure they are achieving departmental as well as institutional objectives and projected outcomes, providing consistent data information and analysis that will be used to inform the development of future Living Arts projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Planning the delivery and production of Living Arts programs at the Museum as well as off
- site and online, including music, dance, theatre, literature, film, and other relevant disciplines.
- Working with the Head of Performing Arts and taking an active role in programming showcases, partnership programs, pop-up, and festival performances.
- Supporting the Head of Performing Arts in creating and managing the performance calendar, including conducting research to inform the planning and prioritization of performances and programs, and using available tools to assess and establish the marketability of the program, all in alignment with the Museum’s overarching programming framework.
- Establishing and maintaining industry relationships to ensure awareness of the latest industry practices as well as sharing of local programming information and opportunities for collaboration while minimizing competition.
- Developing and sustaining institutional partnerships within the industry that result in co
- productions, associate partnerships, and other collaborative relationships beneficial to the Museum’s mission, vision, and impact while ensuring that there is an appropriate match between an event, the space, and the institutional ethos.
- Developing, managing, and reporting on detailed budgets for Living Arts projects in consultation with and as directed by the Head of Performing Arts, including researching project requirements.
- Identifying and contracting performers, partners, project team members, external suppliers, and consultants as appropriate.
- Participating in cross-institutional project teams and standing meetings relevant and relating to the Living Arts division.
- Coordinating with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that Living Arts events are accurately and timely publicized and marketed.
- Managing relevant professional licensures (SOCAN, film licenses etc.) and ensuring that the Museum is always compliant.
- Working with the Head of Performing Arts and the Development Division to create grants/sponsorship proposals.
- Overseeing/monitoring the liaison process between the artist and internal teams to get all the relevant information for contracts, marketing, logistics and production, and overseeing the contracting, payments, production, and logistics process.
- Collaborating extensively and in a timely manner with Operations, Exhibition, Curatorial, Education, Marketing, Development and other functions and operations of the Museum to achieve the objectives of Living Arts programs.
- Working for special projects, including off-site and international programs.
- Working with the Development Division on special initiatives such as openings, galas, etc.
- Routinely attending festivals and programs of other organizations to remain current with and conduct research into current practice in the museum and performing arts field.
- Actively engage in a minimum of one Signature Initiative (SI) team.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- University or college degree, ideally in the Arts and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years of cultural program management in the performing arts and/or special
