Day Camp Director

THT Day Camp is looking for an enthusiastic, responsible and experienced person to lead our summer day camp counsellors at Trinity Church, Barrie; and deliver a creative camp program that will have campers excited to return the next day, and wanting to enroll for another week

**DUTIES**

Create and deliver an exciting, fun and safe program for campers aged 5 - 12 with a potential leadership program option for older campers;
- Plan Day camp: weekly themes, special events / guests, daily games, crafts, music, activities;
- Manage camp registration, monitoring of payments and all communication with parents;
- Train and schedule parish volunteers and camp counsellors;
- Open and close the facility at the beginning and end of each day in co-ordination with a designated camp counsellor as a shared duty;
- Organize and participate in staff meetings as required;
- Manage camp expenses within the camp budget, and report weekly to the camp committee;
- Evaluate day camp and camp staff throughout the summer and provide an employee evaluation at the end of the summer.

**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**
- Be fully vaccinated and in compliance with the Diocese of Toronto policy;
- Have a passion for working with children;
- 2 or more years summer day camp experience as a counsellor or director, with demonstrated program design and responsibility;
- In accordance with the Canada Summer Jobs Program guidelines, applicants shall be between 15 - 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity when working with children;
- Ability to work well with, and motivate, others as part of a team;
- Caring individual with excellent communication and people management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple flights of stairs in a multi-level camp environment;
- Administrative skills including MS Office, MS Excel, and handling registration money.
- Must provide a valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening by the start of the position. The screen will be done through the Diocese of Toronto at the employer’s expense.
- Must have valid First Aid and CPR certification prior to start of work.

**COMPENSATION**
