The Manager, Financial Reporting leads Shaftesbury’s financial reporting processes including but not limited to consolidating financial statements and the preparation of the management discussion and analysis (MD&A).

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Responsible for preparation of consolidation financial statements and various packages for the corporation and Board on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
- Ensure that monthly accounting records are prepared in a sufficient manner to meet these needs
- Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure the timely delivery of the necessary information to prepare the MD&A and financial statements
- Ensure all working papers are prepared on a timely and accurate manner to assist auditors in the quarterly/annual reviews and audits
- Assist in preparation of forecasts
- Build effective working relationships across Shaftesbury to improve sharing of business and financial information
- Develop an understanding of the key drivers for accounting variances, aiming to provide value-added advice as the business evolves
- Support and work with external auditors in their annual audit and audit-related requests
- Continuously drive change and add value by evolving current processes and leading transformation projects
- Assist in special projects
- With the SVP, Finance and Operations, lead the budget and year-end processes
- Ad hoc tasks as needed by SVP, Finance & Operations
- Preparation of various financial reports, ensuring the financial records are maintained in compliance with US Partners
- Generate monthly financial packages for Executive Management and the Board
- Prepare consolidated balance sheet schedules and investigate any abnormal balances
- Coordinate and review balance sheet variance analysis
- Analyze deferred project activity and prepare monthly schedule
- Coordinate and assist with various government filings
- Assist with various year-end tax packages
- Support month-end close as needed
- Ensure that all intercompany account differences are identified, eliminated and cleared in a timely and accurate manner
- Assists in monitoring and developing monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects in development.
- Prepares and drafts annual financial statements including footnotes and disclosure
- Performs elimination of inter-company investments across multiple entities with multiple layers including Joint Ventures

**Qualifications**
- CPA designation (or working toward) and diploma or degree in accounting required
- 3 years’ financial reporting experience required
- 2 to 3 years’ entertainment industry experience preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred
- Excellent MS Office skills required
- Excellent project management, leadership and organizational skills required
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Ability to perform multi-entity with multi-layer consolidations in a complex structure
- Attention to detail, good organization skills and able to prioritize demand to meet deadlines
